This is a small-group course for curious thinkers, writers, storytellers, artists, would-be creative people, and women who still have work, wisdom, and vision asking to be expressed.

Aged Bird offers an empowering new way to meet change at a time when time, physicality, energy, identity, family roles, professional roles, and daily life may all be shifting. Realistic, optimistic, and interactive, this course explores strategies for aging sagely and with satisfaction.

Over 14 weekly sessions, participants will gather in a small-group Zoom setting led by Crescent. Together, we’ll explore the physical, situational, emotional, social, and psychological changes inherent in aging.

Loss, fear, lived experience, creative courage, memory, reinvention, community, and the vibrant invitation of late-life meaningful work are all part of Aged Bird. This is work that has our name on it and is still waiting to be done by us.

What’s included:

  • 14 weekly live Zoom sessions led by Crescent Dragonwagon
  • Small-group discussion and exploration
  • Empowering, creative, practical support
  • Working in life’s three basic modes: what we think, what we feel, and how we act
  • Habitual happiness: developing and strengthening daily practices that serve us
  • Growing community, both within and beyond the group
  • Stories: noticing and rewriting what we tell ourselves and what society tells us
  • How to disrupt what does not serve us now
  • Talking, writing, reflection, staying visible, and staying connected
  • Building unique, powerful, steadiness-and-happiness-giving “Golden Bookends”
  • The hidden gifts in loss, fear, anxiety, and uncertainty
  • Guidance for developing psychologically and creatively in later life
  • A gentle, steady structure for accountability and support over three months

Who this is for:

This small-group course is for women over 60 who are interested in creatively navigating the changing terrain of life’s Third Age.

Maybe your life has been centered around a now-changed family, or a powerful professional role from which you are retired or contemplating retirement. If you take your inner and outer work seriously, want to make meaning in this stage of life, and are ready to be defiantly happy in the face of loss, change, and perhaps disability, this supportive group setting is for you.
